Top 5: Face Products

One of the biggest things that I am always looking for are the best products to use on my face. I don’t always use some of these products religiously, but I think all of them can help. I am a big believer of just washing your face with anything at least once a day. I think that you have to wash your face at the end of the day to get all the bacteria out of your pores. In my opinion these are some of the top products to clean your face with. My favorite brand is Neutrogena, just because I find that it works the best on my skin.
1.      Face wash:
I think that you need to have a good face wash above anything else. People can have totally different opinions on products that they like, which I think is so great. Then you can get tips and brands from people to try out. My favorite face wash is the Neutrogena oil- free acne wash. I like this one because a) it has a fruity pink grapefruit scent, b) it seems to keep my face clean, and c) I can feel the salicylic acid working on my skin.

2.      Make up remover wipes:
The most important thing for any girl’s beauty regimen is taking her make-up off at the end of the night. Without taking off your make-up girls get the entire gunk left by the make-up seeped into the pores, which will start to cause blackheads.  My favorite make-up remover is Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes - 25 Count. I think that those wipes really clean off all the make-up on your skin.

3.      Moisturizer:
Moisturizer is important because that keeps your skin from drying out and getting dry patches.  When you get dry patches on your face it makes it very hard to put on make- up because your make-up will start to get flakey. The best moisturizer that I have found is Olay Complete All Day Moisturizer with Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 15– Sensitive. It is just very soft and hydrates my skin really well.
4.      Exfoliator:

These can be key when you’re starting to break out because the microbeads help to scrub off the breakouts. The salicylic acid is the major component in face products to help fight off acne. My favorite exfoliator/ scrub that I use is Neutrogena pink grapefruit foaming scrub.
5.      Toner:
It is designed to cleanse the skin and help with the clear appearance of pores. The strongest form of toner is an astringent. The astringent is a good thing to have along with a mild toner or face wash because astringents can help to clear up acne I find as well. A good toner that I use is Simple Soothing Facial Toner. This toner is a soft and clean feeling one.

Top 5: Boots

With the falls season fast approaching I thought I would be a smart idea to make my next segment about boots. Everyone has at least one kid of boots or if you have more than one you have a favorite. These seem like the top boots that everyone either has or wants to wear.

1.   Combat boots:
The new trend that everyone is wearing around is combat boots. You can pair these boots with a cute, girly dress to make it rocker chic. Or you can pair it with basic skinny jeans and your favorite tee shirt to add a cool twist to a classic style.

      2.   Knee- High (Equestrian) boots:
This is one of those styles that we have seen celebs doing forever it seems. They (or their stylist) know just the right outfit to make these boots look so cool and expensive. I have a pair of this kind that I got from Nordstrom last winter. I love them to death. Comfiest pair of boots out there I think aside from UGGS of course. My favorite way to wear them is just with my dark wash skinny jeans and a nice shirt.

3.   Rain boots:
With fall comes the rain. All around school I notice people bringing back the rain boots. I remember when we used to wear them when we all were little kids and had them in the brightest colors. We thought we were so cool back then turns out we were. It was fun to wear them when we're little and now it's the trend to wear the rain boots. I would recommend these types of boots with a skinnier pant (preferably jeans) and a scarf with a simple shirt underneath the scarf.

    4.   UGG boots:
Every girl and even some boys have a pair of these shoes. They are the comfiest and softest boots imaginable. I don’t know how someone thought to make slipper boots cool, but they did. I have 3 pairs of different uggs I think. Some many people can wear these boots, purely based on the comfort of them. Uggs come in so many different colors and styles that any shoes their company makes is awesome. I pretty much wear mine with any type of pant that I have. The best way I think though is putting them with a skinny jean or someway you can show them off.

5.   Cowboy boots:
Want to know a good way to express the country side in you? Just add a pair of cowboy boots to your wardrobe. These boots are obviously very popular in the south, but my school has a big country music following. That group of people loves to show off that side of them. Most of the girls like to do that by wearing cowboy boots when they can. I think the easiest way to wear the boots is by showing them off with a cute, frilly dress.

Top 5: Makeup

Every week from now on I will be posting things that I think are the top 5of each fashion category. For example, this week I will be blogging about mytop 5 essential makeup products in the morning. Every morning before school Iam so rushed with only a short amount of time to get ready. I still like tolook cute for school, but I need my rest. I choose to get ready in like 30minutes for school while other girls I’m sure spend like an hour getting readyor longer.

1.      Clinique Even Better: The best product that I can recommendfor foundation is Clinique Even Better Foundation. The foundation goes on sosilky soft. It matches with your skin tone no matter what because they have somany shades. I have tried a lot of different brands of foundation and this oneby far is my favorite. It is very easy to apply to your face or wherever. I usea brush, but you could use your finger or anything.

2.     Lash Blast Length: This Covergirl mascara is thebest. I use a variety of mascaras on my face eyes sometimes at the same time. Ialways start with this one first because it lengthens your eyelashes a lot and declumpsthem I find. I use the water resistant one in this pretty yellow container.

3.     Dior Concealer: One of my beauty treats that I spoilmyself with is the Dior Skinflash Radiance Booster Pen. I absolutely love this concealerbecause it covers up my blemishes and also brightens it at the same time. This isa good product for people with dark circles, like me, because the concealer coversthem right up and brightens up the circles.
4.   LiquilineBlast: This is another Covergirl product that is amazing. It istheir eyeliner, which is like liquid eyeliner in a pencil stick. The product isingenious and I own like four different shades of it because I love it so much. The colors that I have are green, blue, purple, and grey. I use each shade tohelp express my personality. That would be my biggest recommendation is take abold color and try something new to stand out.
      5. Combination Set:This is an idea that I would highly recommend. All you do is go out and buy youfavorite eye makeup palette. I got one for Christmas and I use it just aboutevery morning as my eye shadows. It can hold as much makeup as you feel youneed and be as expense as you want to make it. I use my combination makeuppalette all the time just because of the variety of colors mine has and the convinceof it being all in one.

Back to School

"Go to school looking like you! Feel comfortable, confident, and happy." ~ Betsy Johnson
If your a little late to the game we are all back in school at this point and it is all about the fashion. There are new classes, new friends to make, and new clothes to buy. Sometimes having a right look at the start of school can say a lot. It might give you the confidence to make a new friend or be the brightest student in the classroom. There are some key pieces that you should try to incorporate into your start of school wardrobe. Some of those major pieces are: a long- sleeved tee, jeans of course, oxford shoes,  a rucksack backpack (trend alert!), a fall dress, slouchy cardigan, a skirt, and everyone needs their favorite pair of sneakers with them to start the new year.

There are a few celebrity back to school/ fall trends going on. For example, some of the styles are mixing patterns, denim on denim, bright denim pants, boyfriend blazer, and lace tops. Those are some realistic ways you can stay on trend and keep up with the celebrities looks. So many of these clothes can be timeless or worn at any season. Some celebrities that you'll see rocking these style trends are Emma Watson, Victoria Justice, Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, and Ashley Benson from Pretty Little Liars. A lot of what they wear can be made affordable, so that we don't have to spend a fortune on back to school shopping. Personally, a few of my most go to pieces in my closet are scarves, a cute dress, great pair of sweats and a slouchy blouse. I love scarves during the fall because they are a cute way to look comfy. I think a couple dresses are great to always have in your closet for those last nice weather days of fall. How comfortable something is is very high on my list of priorities when it comes to early morning school days. At the end of the day just remember this, "Fashions fade, style is eternal."~ Yves Saint-Laurent

New Trends for Fall 2012

Fall is one of my favorite times of the year. There are all the different colored leaves falling and the exciting things that pop up when we go back to school, like homecoming, football games, etc. I think part of thereason that I love fall so much is because of all the fall fashions that come with the season. Fitting enough New York Fashion Week is going on right now. There are all the designers coming out with new trends, colors, and fashion styles.

One of the new fall fashion trends that we have been seeing on the runway for the fall season is the military theme. Designers like Victoria Beckham, Jason Wu, Tommy Hilfiger, and many more have been using military to help inspire their collections. Other designers have been inspired by bold colors like Carolina Herrera, DKNY, Marc Jacobs, Diane von Furstenberg, and several others. The one trend for fall that I just love is wearing the color of winter white. I think that with all the bright, colorful fall colors going on outside the white will just pop. Some of the designers that are using this color trend are Derek Lam, Phillip Lim, Alexander Wang, Cushnie et Ochs, and Peter Som. I hope that  people really look at these trends and incorperate some of them into their personal style.

Now here comes the big thing. No matter what your style is each season there are new colors that can be incorporated into any wardrobe. The big fall colors that I’ve noticed on the runway are burnt orange, eggplant, royal blue, peach, deep teal, primrose yellow, venetian red, and cerulean. All of them are big jewel tones except peach, and even that stands out. Everyone loves big colors that help them stand out of the crowd. I'm sure that everyone has at least one of these colors in their closet at home, so just throw on one of these colors during the fall and you'll be a home made fashionista.

The One and Only

A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous. - Coco Chanel

Coco Chanel is the first woman to really chage the fashion world. When you hear the words LBD or little black dress, what do you think? Coco Chanel. She is the original fashionista. People revolve their fashion lines around what she created. What Coco Chanel created is in the "fashion bible" so to speak. She has been one of the most inflencial person in the fashion industry. Now after she past away Karl Lagerfeld has taken over as the head designer and he carries her vision throughout all the clothes with the Chanel logo on them.

Some of her most trademark pieces are the infamous Chanel suits, Chanel No. 5 perfume, and the little black dress. The original tweed Chanel suits are what helped to make her clothes famous. One of my favorite perfumes is Chanel No. 5. I don't own the bottle, but have smelled the perfume. It is a very classic and feminine scent. I can not thank Coco Chanel enough for making the "LBD" a staple in every women's closet. I love little black dresses or even just basic little dresses in any color. One of my favorite pieces in my closet is this little pink dress with a floral print on it. I love Coco Chanel and all the clothes and pieces within the Chanel brand a lot. She really is the one and only person that could have inspired so many ideas.
